about me

Ashley Giacoma, OTR/L
I am a wife, mother, and occupational therapist who specializes in treating women with pelvic floor and core dysfunction and supporting mothers through the 4th trimester and beyond. My prior clinical background is in home health pediatrics and I am also a certified birth and postpartum doula. I graduated with my Master of Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University and have my B.S. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University.
Even before becoming a mother, I had a passion for birth and the postpartum stage. In graduate school, I completed program development to address maternal mental health and physical wellness. After experiencing a particularly difficult and painful pregnancy, I sought out pelvic floor therapy for myself. Unfortunately, I did not experience the type of care and support I had hoped for and needed. I did not feel heard or valued and did not experience the outcomes I was looking for. I have started Made for Motherhood to fill this gap by offering holistic care and support to women and mothers.
I believe that pregnancy, birth, and raising children is something that women are designed to do, and that these things are blessings! I am passionate about serving women and mothers and offering support through the perinatal period. I was Made for Motherhood, and so were you.
I have completed the following continuing education:
OT Pioneers Pelvic Floor Training
Myofascial Release
Diastasis Recti
Nervous system and emotional regulation
